Tallow

Tallow, which was originally as a planned market town, has a strong industrial heritage. Between 2002 and 2006 the population of the town grew by 6.3% to 1,209. With a designation as a Local Service Centre, Waterford County Council has planned for the growth of Tallow.

Infrastructure

Road
Tallow is strategic located close to the N72 (Mallow- Dungarvan) National Secondary Route and relative close proximity to the N25 (Rosslare- Cork) and N8 (Dublin- Cork) National Primary Routes. The Town is approximately 60km from Cork.

Telecommunications
Tallow is served by DSL, wireless and satellite telecommunications.

The development strategy for Tallow is illustrated on the Land Use Zoning Map below. There are large amounts of land available for development, the area to the south-east of Tallow is zoned to facilitate industry.
