The Pilot Training College of Ireland was founded in 2001 and is based at Waterford Regional Airport. It has been training pilots since the introduction of the Joint Aviation Regulations (JAA) to Europe and with its rapid growth and recognition, the college is poised to become the main aviation training centre in Europe. At present the college has circa 200 students at various stages of studying for their commercial pilot’s license. Apart from the high number of Irish students, there is a large international intake with students from Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The students benefit from the College’s excellent reputation within the aviation industry and are sought after by the leading international airlines with 98% employed within two months of graduation.

The College’s new Pilot Assessment and Simulator Centre was recently opened by Martin Cullen TD, Minister for Social and Family Affairs who endorsed the Pilot Training College as a huge success story not only for the South East but for Ireland as a whole and welcomed its continuing development and growth.
